I have seen lots and lots of comments like these from people on a lot of posts on Steemit and here is my assessment as to why would anyone comment like this. Below are all the valid reasons i could think of, if anyone could add more to my thesis or share their views, i would mention them in the journal of commenting on social media which you can nowhere find except in your own logical mind.

* They or they refers to the people who make one to five words comment.

1. They are not familiar with the language or the platform

2. They do not know how to make interactions or get visibility on the platform so they resort to posting short comments and appreciate whatever comes their way.

3. They think writing good in comments and praising the author, comforts the author.

4. They have read the article and did not find any context to comment upon but there is an urgent urge to comment which they are unable to overcome or resist.

5. They haven't read the article but want to become early curators by up-voting and commenting the post, and nothing comes to their mind but nice, good and interesting.

6. They are a counter measure to reveal the fact that many people have up-voted the post with a large amounts of SBD and some of them have chosen to comment rubbish to show the interaction of people on the post.

7. They are highly intellectual account holders on steemit who can summarize the entire post in one, two or three words, and the word's  definition is needed to be deciphered through a private key, which is of course they have lost.

8.  It looks nice on a post to have a lots of comments like nice, good and author not responding to anyone of them, but only replying to the the comments of people with high reputation score. 

9.  They are not good content creators but still want to earn and the only option for them is commenting good, nice, begging for an upvote and other magic formulas.

10. The golden rule of 20/80 is a universal constant in terms of comments.
