My husband went in 1999. He is Australian it was his first visit to the US and he just happened to be in San Diego. He just walked up and got tickets.
The Emerald City Comicon in Seattle used to be a walk up get a ticket thing. Now it is a nightmare. sells out months before you even know which celebs will attend. And we are no San Diego con... so the celebs are not guaranteed to be worth seeing. We haven’t gone in a few years just because it is such a zoo now.
Yeah I’ve bren hearing more and more what a nightmare ECCC has become. All the big shows are getting to be a royal pain.
