Cosplay Encounters Part 3 ~ For My Friend Karin
In my continuing efforts to open up the world here to the nerdy shit I experience all the time, I am sharing some pics that I snapped at comic conventions throughout the past year. This is part 2 of a Cosplay Photo Dump for my dear friend @karinxxl. She was completely unaware of the fact that folks from all walks of life, cosplay as their favorite characters at Comic Conventions across the globe. So I am supplying her with enough photos to burn into her memory forever. For those who have been following me since earlier in the year, about half way through is when you might start to see repeats that I initially posted.

So many amazing costumes! I love seeing these. Everyone looks like they are having so much fun.
Some of them really get into character as well. Some just do it for the fun of it. Either way, I have a blast seeing so many different interpretations of characters.
And obviously it is a great time to collect photographs! That part would be really fun, too!
Yeah...once in a while you get someone who is an ass about it. I always ask first obviously and 99% of the time they are more than happy to pose once in a while you get someone who thinks they are God’s gift to the world. If they scoff or sigh I immediately say never mind and walk away.
I get it, it’s gotta be annoying for every few steps, someone is asking for pics. But you cane dressed up at a comic con. What did you expect?!? Lol
Why would you even dress up if you didn't want the attention! Anyway, your photos are great!
Thank you my dear. Yeah I think the same thing. Every con there are always a couple of those folks...
I'm glad that you walk away and leave them standing there when they act all inconvenienced by posing for a photo.
Yeah, there was a beautifully done Batgirl and Superman at one of the cons this year. They looked legit. They were walking by and I asked politely as I usually do. They stopped and scoffed and Batgirl told me to make it quick as they posed. I said never mind and they scoffed again and mumbled as they walked away.

I go for the shop. I work my ass off at these events but I always have a blast.

It was fun and interesting to see how people dress)). Some characters I don't know.
It is nutty. Some put in so much time and effort. It’s really something to see. I know most of them but there are some that even I’m like...who the hell is that?!?

It is. Especially San Diego. It takes over the entire city. It’s the city of San Doego’s Biggest money maker every year. It’s huge. 150 thousand plus people flock there every year.

Yeah. When you land at San Diego it’s all over the airport. The hotels in the downtown area transform themselves to advertise the hottest games, shows, or movies. Everybody in a Hollywood is there. It’s a truly nutty event.
Nutty yes. It's like everyone wants to escape the real world and live in a fantasy one? I suppose it's a harmless addiction.
I think it’s just for fun. It’s a hobby that folks are super passionate about. Real life is hard. This provides a temporary escape.

Hell yeah! The big ones in San Diego and New York have a ton of tasty cosplayers to see. That in itself is a total treat. You ever been to a convention like this @jbgarrison72?
I've only been to wargaming and roleplaying game conventions here in Eastern Washington State back in the late 80's and early 90's... nothing like the stuff that happens in Seattle, San Diego, New York or Lake Geneva! Some day though @blewitt !
If you get a chance, check out the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle. Not too far from ya. Really good show that is growing each year.
It was a different world back in the day. Now it’s a huge pop culture event.

AHHH!!! Love! My faves are the steampunk girls, Maui, and are there two women dressed as Loki? 'Cause I'm on team Loki. Okay, maybe I'm on team Thor, too. I just want them to get along, but adore watching them get in trouble together.
Man, Women sure love Loki and Tom Hiddleston! He landed a great role that really put him on the map. He also made people discover who Loki was which is cool.
I love looking at the cool crazy Steempunk stuff. I know my friend @parusa here has some cool involvement with the Steempunk community. Check her out!!!
Loki is such a cool character. I actually wrote him into one of my manuscripts, but completely reinvented his story and past. Marvel made him sexy as hell, though. Mmmmmmm....
