One Of The Most Iconic Speeches Of All Time.

Charlie Chaplin was an icon.

Watching his movies, it’s clear to see that he was ahead of his time. He dominated the screen and had you laughing in hysterics or balling your eyes out watching him do his thing on the screen. He could convey the deepest of ideas to you, even in his silent movies. He could scream with his eyes and make you scream along as well. Many people my age don’t know Charlie Chaplin, or have only heard his name in passing.

As he slowly fades from our memories, I worry that younger generations will never get to appreciate Charlie Chaplin, or how amazingly talented he was. Charlie owned the big screen from 1914 to the late 60s.

I love many of his movies, and the scenes that come with those movies, but my all time favorite moment is his speech in his movie The Great Dictator. Not only is it well written and spoken, but it’s theme it’s very insightful as well, and it is still relevant to this day. Charlie wrote the speech himself and directed the scene:

Nothing special provoked this post, I really just wanted to share this speech because I feel like it’s something that people think about and relate to.

I only hope Charlie’s legacy lives on.
