The three musketeers

"The desert color transforms from yellow to orange at sunset. Shadows begin to creep up all around as the sun hangs lower on the horizon. What I didn't expect was to see so many clouds, decorating the blue sky.

We were heading towards our camp, at an oasis site in the middle of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Morocco. I am sitting on the first camel, followed by 2 guys, who as you can see, are not sitting very comfortably on theirs. As a matter of fact, they asked to walk and hopped off for a good part of the journey! hehe, sorry boys: I've got 99 problems but sitting uncomfortably on a camel ain't one!

Later that night, as the temperatures dropped close to zero degrees, we put on all of the clothes we had in our backpacks, determined to dine outside our big tent and under the desert sky, while sipping French-inspired Moroccan rosè and playing Monopoly cards, without which we never travel.

The clouds eventually cleared and made way for Milky Way to appear above us. This is how our great great great ancestors used to live, a long, long time ago when the skies were not polluted by lights. Now you have to travel to remote places to experience this sight. Few things in life have made me feel as humble, speechless and connected to the universe, to god, to life force, to chi, call it whatever you want, as witnessing the giant Milky Ways traveling above. Your body cells will tremble, your heart will momentarily beat at a different, non earthy frequency, and you will feel that you truly belong, because you actually see your place in the universe.

I hope and trust that these treasures will still be there, hundreds of years later, for the people of the future to enjoy."

This is amazing. You should enter this for the 27th week contest

You think so?! Alright then! 🤓

"Few things in life have made me feel as humble..." THIS!
Looking at the starry sky I can't help but think that there's no way we are alone in the universe. It's so selfish to think we are alone.

The mystery of this life 🤔

What a great performance! @fjorenca

Voted! Absolutely love this photo ✨💛

Thank you, super nice of you! :)

Beautiful pics. I was hoping to go to Morocco in April but my wife couldn't get a visa. ☹️

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that! I didn't know Morocco was strict with visas? I hope you both get to visit it soon one day!

I've always loved these types of shadow images! Well done!

Thank you :) Shadow images are so abundant at sunrise and sunset in Sahara - a real show for the eyes!

The second photo of the camel is so beautiful. I love it very much. Really great capture. :D
