Colour Challenge, Sunday Purple
A wild meadow started to grow after an area of trees was cleared last year. It's amazing how much life there is and which species of plant claims their spot. This flower is called Foxglove and it is native to Europe and Asia. Interestingly Foxglove is the pharmaceutical source for the drug digitalis which is used to treat heart conditions and is poisonous if taken in large doses. The sap, flowers, leaves and seeds of this flower are poisonous and one should never drink the sap or rainwater that collects inside the flower.
Good to know if these lovely flowers start popping up in your neighbourhood fields!
very lovely, nice light... happy Sunday
Thank you!
