First Day of the Semester
So, yesterday was the very first day of the semester for the Cal State University I teach at, and things are already... entertaining?
I begin the morning running slightly late (as usual), but I'm rushing to my classroom, set on making up the time. I check my phone as I'm making my way across campus, to see which room I'm in. Luckily, I get to the room on time with copies of the syllabus in hand, ready to start the day! Only there's one small problem... I'm in the wrong room...
Luckily, this was due to a VERY recent room change, and more than half of the class was their for my class... So, we were ALL in the wrong room.
Then, after going over the syllabus together, I begin to notice that there is information from last semester that does not apply! I always mess up something in the syllabus which is why I never print them out for my students. Typically, I just have it posted in our online "hub" for the classroom called Canvas. Of course, the very first time I have a printed syllabus for every student in class, it's incorrect... FML...
Oh well! There's always something fun and exciting around the corner in the world of higher education! I look at this way - it can only go up from here... Right?
At least I get views like this when I get home!
Set your goals high and don't stop until you get there.
