Lawyers are funny creatures. Most don't see you as a person, but as an object that will either advance or hinder their careers. Their fear of standing against the government is usually driven by the affect that your case will have on their careers and not the merit of your case.

People in legal trouble need to research different law firms to find a firm whose interests align with their interests.
