Silverfish: a Booklover's Worst Enemy
Silverfish are small insects without wings that move like fish and have bodies covered with very fine silvery scales, hence their name. They mostly eat the carbohydrates (sugar or starches) found in book bindings, paper, photographs and clothing, which is why I hate them with a passion.
The title graphic for this post includes the name: 蠹魚 dùyú / duhyu “silverfish” and the four character phrase 格殺勿論 géshā wùlùn / gersha wuhluenn “[literally] hit kill, do-not judge = kill on sight (without fear of punishment)”
How can I prevent silverfish from harming my beloved books?
