How to Get Monetized on Facebook Fast (Facebook Monetization Tips for Beginners)
I recently got monetized on Facebook and my profile has been earning me money.
It's a great feeling; being paid for something I used to do for free. Each month, I check my aggregate earnings and I feel a sense of pride in myself and my actions, if I do say so myself.
I have been lucky to get monetized on a few platforms, including YouTube and my blog and I say this with the utmost humility, but I have picked up a few tips on how each platform works.
Facebook Monetization: How It Works
Before now, if you wanted to get monetized on Facebook, you had to meet a few criteria which included getting 10,000 followers and achieving 600,000 minutes views on your videos within 60 days.
Now, Facebook has become more lenient and even channels with very little followers are getting money everyday.
Here's a simple plan you can follow to also get monetized, whether you have 2,000 followers or 20,000.
Step by Step Process
1. Change Your Setting to Professional Mode
This only applies if you are looking to monetize your profile. If you are using a page, you can skip this step.
Profiles that aren't professional can't get monetized, even if you tick good on the other monetization criteria. So go right ahead and enable this via your settings.
To test that this has been done, you'll find that your profile option will change from Add Friend to Follow.
2. Become Active
This is perhaps the most important step when it comes to Facebook monetization.
Facebook, like any other business, wants to make money and it knows this is only possible when a profile or page gets a lot of views and engagements.
Let me also say here that Facebook monetization works on an engagement basis. That is,while you will make money from views, you will earn a lot more once you have very high engagement.
A profile that gets an engagement of 10% and above will earn a lot more and the more money you make, the more Facebook makes.
Which is why the platform looks out for such high engagement from the get-go.
You want to get started posting 5-6 posts daily. Just pick a niche, one that resonates with you and get started.
To make this easy on you too, you should use the schedule button and schedule out your posts at intervals throughout the day.
3. Build a Community
This step continues from being active, with just a slight difference.
When you start posting, people will drop comments as they connect with your post and this is where growing your engagement and community starts.
You always want to respond to EVERY comment on your post. See it as a sort of "thank you" to the commenters for taking the time to engage. They could have just read and passed - a lot do.
Responding to these comments is also a way to keep a conversation going. This won't just increase the likelihood of getting a friends (I know I've gotten a few this way), Facebook will see this as high engagement and likely increase your reach.
Beyond responding to comments, you want to also check out your commenters' posts and pay back the favour.
Since people are looking for engagement all over the platform and what better way to keep them coming back to yours when you leave your visibility everywhere.
4. Ensure Your Content is 100% Original
Facebook doesn't joke with originality. So get started posting content (pictures, reels, videos, text) that were 100% created by you.
Keep following these steps and soon you will get the setup invite from Facebook after which every single content you upload or have uploaded becomes monetized.
