RE: Iridescent clouds increasing in frequency: what does it mean?
I only recently came across this phenomenon and the man who showed it was photographing what he believed to be chemtrails, so he was, of course, leaning towards that explanation. To be honest, his photos weren't the most convincing when it came to chemtrails, more like contrails, so at the time that cloud seemed like a clincher. Interesting to have another explanation for it. I'll continue to keep an open mind.
I don't think I'm likely to see any if it's due to ice crystals, as we're not a cold country and when it is cold enough, there's usually complete cloud cover.

I understand now that cumulus clouds all have ice crystals. Though this still doesn't explain why the sightings have increased so much in recent years. Unless of course it is simply getting colder up there.
There are a lot of chemtrails in this region so it is possible the two things are connected. My mind is still flooded with upcoming ice age theories, so the 'colder up there' explanation seems to fit quite well!
