🌎 15 SIMPLE ways to reduce your Carbon Footprint in 2019
Hey Steemians of the 🌎,
It is now a week into 2019 and have you made any new years plans to do your small but very important bit to help with our environment? I mean just some small but significant things you can change in your life that will lessen the impact on our planet, us and everything that depends on it. Below is an infographic produced by C40 (a climate leadership alliance of the top 40 cities in the world). I'd urge you to be aware that as governments and politicians may be failing to strike deals and make real environmental changes through policy, our world cities, who consume the most in the world are teaming up to do something about it too. That's a positive thing as 55% of the population live in cities now and it is expected that 68% of the world's population will live in cities by 2050 🏢🏣🏭
This year I have pledged to cut out beef and lamb from my diet and remove all diary products too - I've spent years drinking milk and only just realised that my body doesn't like it, so that's easy (cheese however is a different story...)
We need to understand and to take our environmental (consumption) impact seriously in this changing world and hope that we can all too! Think before you do.
Have you made a pledge this year? #people4climate 🌟

We all do need to do our part. That is what my podcast is all about. While I like the graphics - there are a few points I do disagree with. I.e. vegans might have a much larger environmental footprint as someone who eats permaculture raised meat - which could be insects 😱. Or if you get rid of a perfectly good car to buy an electric one .... So many things to think about.
Agree on the car aspect. One thing I really can't wait for is cities having electric vehicles only, currently cities are choked with diesel fumes and having lived in London, suffered as a result of this. I'll get an electric car when they become affordable and the one I current have comes to the end of its life... I've never seen permaculture raised meat being sold before as a product, I hope that it becomes a more regular thing in future. Nice to hear from you @sustainablelivin !
