until again - A Piece for Oboe and Cello

This piece was inspired by the Oboist, who had a dream that I was writing a sequel piece to one of my previous quartets. At that moment I wasn't working on anything with full force so I thought "why shouldn't I be writing a piece for oboe and cello?" So with that encouragement from her subconscious, I embarked on writing this piece of music. It was a fun challenge to work with a much smaller instrumentation than I had before. I didn't have 4 instruments to fill all of the harmonic layers so I had to think more horizontally and about how the instruments were moving in time rather than just what texture I could provide at each vertical snapshot.
