Gems of the Mediterrenean Sea (Part 1)
Back in 2008, I had a chance to visit the islands and coastline in the Gulf of Salerno, Italy during an amazing trip with a small sailing boat. It was really great, one of the best excursions of my life. You have a totally different view of these little towns and villages if you look at them from the sea. It is really amazing how high they have built houses up on the rocks. Though it was a long time ago, I can still vividly remember the picturesque towns, the wonderful view of the horizon, the squeaking sound of the seagulls, the incomparable smell of salty water and the gorgeous taste of Italian red wine. I wish to share these memories with you in this series of posts.
Our first stop is Amalfi, which is part of the UNESCO world heritage. Looking at these photos, you will understand why. The little town is surrounded by 1300 meters high cliffs. The view of the town is really amazing from the water:
I love walking on these narrow streets...
Cars sometimes had a difficult time...
Houses are built on the cliffs, so carrying things up requires a bit of a thinking...
Fountains
The town's main sight is the Saint Andrew's Cathedral
The place is famous for its Limoncello (Lemon Liqueaur)
Ceramics are also popular souvenirs
The beach is not big, but it is also nice.
View of the town from the hill - you can see a lot of roofs, beautiful isn't it?
And the proof that I was there... :-)
Looks like an enchanting place to visit while on the Mediterranean.
Was this a destinantion from a cruise?
Yes, it was a fantastic cruise. I am planning to share the other stops we took, because it was really great.
Varázslatos hely, annyi biztos! Remélem én is egyszer eljutok oda!
Érdemes... tényleg szép és annyira nincs is messze.
Great shots of the Amalfi coast. I'm looking forward to going there. These are lovely shots taken from the sea. As you say, you get a completely different perspective.
Thanks a lot! Go there it is fantastic! :-)

Wow that incredible photos, almost I felt part of the trip hehehe, I liked many the photo of the water source, the dog starting the stairs, the horses or mules up the slope, all are spectacular and my favorites were those, greetings @ksolymosi
Thanks a lot for your kind words! Have a nice day! :-)
Wahh looks absolutely incredibly, would love to visit some day 🙏🏼
Thumbs up for a good photo selection 👍🏼
Thanks a lot! :-)
I love the shots from the boat. It makes the town look quaint and quiet. I bet it was a bit more loud and busy walking the streets. I bet they had some amazing food here!
Oh yes, food was excellent, too! :-)
Lovely! This took me right back to southern italy! I was lucky enough to study there in university and experience the joys of the mediterranean. Even enjoyed some limoncello from an old italian fisherman 😂
Oh it must have been great to study in Italy. I love that country!
