Annie Fratellini, the woman who inspired me to be clown
Annie Fratellini was one of the first female clown. Born in 1932 in France within a family of circus artist, she started as a comedian before jumping into the world of circus and founding a clown duo with her husband.
I remember to have seen her when going to the circus with my parents. She made me laugh and found her clown character just awesome. With her husband she founded the circus academy in France.
She was innovative, dynamic and lot of emotions at the same time. I thought myself "If one day I would be a clown, I would be that enthousiastic clown !".
And 25 years after, I've decided to be a clown myself and follow her clown spirit.
Joyful, enthusiastic and spontaneous, this is the clown I want to be !
