Teen Titans Go! To the Movies

Let's see, as any person I'm not a big fan of Teen Titans Go!, and I prefer a thousands times the 2003 version. But that doesn't mean that I don't understand the existence of the new version, which is clearly a parody of the original. And well, having said that I must say, that despite preferring the original cartoon, I found this film really good and entertaining. One of the reasons why I like the film is because of the clear differences between the show and this one. Of course, it still respects the childish characterization of the characters, but even so now that they are in a movie, they have more time to do something with them. The movie has emotional messages, it has action, it has sadness, which is definitely not found in the original cartoon. But now, they were able to draw inspiration from its format and turn it into something entertaining, even for someone who dislikes the series.

And this leads me to also like the way the film criticizes its own show. The plot basically talks about this through Robin (That I also like how even though it comes out all the Titans, they turn this into their film) And now that it shows that they want to do things right and show that they don't always have to be inept. I really like his protagonism and how he gives the message of reflection.

Speaking of how inept the Titans are in the show. The moments of action were what I liked the most, not because they are too cool or something like that, but because they finally allowed themselves to show how they try to be a moderately effective team, and try to be what they really should show from the beginning, that they are superheroes, which does not happen in the show. The fact that they took things seriously, even for a moment, made me take them seriously. (Which I think has never happened in 4 years that the show has been running)

And look, one thing I dislike about the series is its colors. They are always very bright and they put too much color in things, the animations exaggerate them too much (Something like what they did in Hotel Transylvania 3) but, now they risked to lower this intensity and use a less "Intense" color palette and make a more beautiful and detailed animation. But, without reaching a level of the current DC animations. They themselves prove that not all animations have to be extremely dark and deep and that they can create a childish but entertaining version of the Teen Titans.

Now, not because this is something aimed to children, there is no reason not to criticize cheap humor. Which you see a lot in the series, but reduce in the movie and still find it annoying and really uncomfortable. And the worst thing is that they try to put this humor in a very forced way. For example, bathroom jokes. It's kind of weird and uncomfortable, and not necessarily because it's for kids, they have to have this kind of humor.

And finally, I have to applaud the brave fact how, throughout the film, DC criticizes itself, its films and the show itself. And this is definitely the children's version of the Teen Titans that they should try out, they don't have to completely change the path, just some corrections, give it a plot line, little emotional moments or action, and show that less than they're not idiots, just immature.
