Why Should You Read Your Chronological Bible

Do you have a version of the Bible that you love to read? I have to say my favorite is the New King James Version of the Bible.

Before I share with you the scripture that the Lord put on my heart for you today, I wanted to share a fun fact with you. I read my Bible every year according to a Bible Chart. I have done that for so many years. I think it started with me being in a Christian bookstore one day a few months after I got saved.

I was so hungry to know God and the things of God that I was always looking for something that would help me read my Bible and understand it.

I have to tell you when I first started reading my Bible, I was trying to read the Old King James Bible. Oh, my word, if you haven't read that version you haven't lived. That is so hard to understand with the thees and the thous. To make matters worse for me I was trying to read the Bible like a book from front to back. You are supposed to start in Genesis and read through to Revelation - right? Ummm that would be NO! The Old Testament is important to read someday sometime. But it's so filled with things that are so hard to understand when you don't even understand the basics of the Bible.

So, I decided to find a version of the Bible I could understand. I found this Bible; it's called The Love Bible. This isn't the original one I don't know what happened to the other one. I knew someday I wanted to get one just so I would have it to remind me of those days.

It's only the New Testament so I would read it cover to cover. Now when I try to read it, I don't even know how I got any scriptures out of it. Chronological Bible reading plan It's an extremely easy-to-read Bible in modern-day English. This Bible saved my life.

After I had been a Christian for about three years, I started reading the New King James Version, and like I said that's my favorite version. Then I started reading the Old Testament. I attempt to read the Bible throughout the year but I do miss some days.

This brings me to my point today. The Bible says in Psalm 119:11 New American Standard Version "Your Word I have treasured in my heart that I might not sin against You. (GOD)" If we don't read our Bibles, we don't have His Word hidden in our hearts.

The Lord has dropped some hilarious scriptures in my head. I also ask the Lord for a scripture a living Rhema Word when something is bothering me and I need help.

One time I needed a car and I needed to know God was going to provide one. Now in the Bible, no one talked about cars, such a thing didn't exist. But they did have modes of transportation - so I asked the Lord to provide a car for me the way He would have provided a donkey or a camel to someone in the Bible.

It's important to read your Bible whether it's a watered-down version of the Bible like the Love Book or it's hard-to-understand Old King James Version - read it and let it bring life to you.
