Christmas Eve Traditions

in #christmas6 years ago

My family and I had a very traditional (for us) Christmas Eve Day. The past few years, these are theWe spent the day doing food prep for Christmas Eve appetizer dinner and Christmas Day supper. Then at 4 pm we went to church for the Christmas Eve service. When we got home, all the prepped food went into the oven, then we feasted on meatballs, shrimp, pigs in a blanket, and various other appetizers.

After that we returned to the den for a fire, s'mores and Pee Wee's Christmas Special.

Now presents are under the tree, and I'm heading to bed. Merry Christmas Eve, everybody!

Merry Christmas @methus. Food looks delish. What is the food in the front/bottom of the first pic? Little quiches? Something potatoe-y?

My guess is twice baked potatoes. They look fantastic.

Ed's got it! Start with little white potatoes, coat with oil and salt, bake. Cool. Cut in half. Scoop the potatoes out of the skins. Mix the potato innards with sour cream, butter, monetery jack, and whatever spices you want. Fill the skins with the mixture and bake again. They were really good.

Oooo. That would be really good!
