WHEN I HAVE A CONVENIENT TIME
"NOW AS HE REASONED ABOUT RIGHTEOUSNESS, self-control, and the judgment to come, FELIX WAS AFRAID AND ANSWERED, “GO AWAY FOR NOW; WHEN I HAVE A CONVENIENT TIME I WILL CALL FOR YOU.”
Acts 24:25 (NKJV)
Comment: Governor Felix invited Paul the apostle, he wanted to hear the gospel. But when Paul reasoned with him, about righteousness, self-control, and the judgement to come; he sent Paul away and said when he had a convenient time he will call for him. But the convenient time never came—he never did call for Paul till he left office.
He was convinced of the Word he heard, and was afraid, but he did not make the decision of surrendering his life to God. He was convinced but not converted!
There are many who have found themselves in the similar situation which governor Felix found himself. Instead of making the decision for Christ Jesus based on the message or the Word of God they heard, they shrugged it off and refused to take the step. Unfortunately, We do not have the record that governor Felix ever made any decision for Christ Jesus. Thus, the opportunity you had today to hear or read the Word of God should not be taken for granted.
Note:
a. If you had not made the decision for Christ Jesus, do it now; tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2).
b. And If you had made the decision, but there is a change you needed to make; a wrong you needed to right, the character defect to be corrected or changed, the restitution you needed to make, the step you needed to take based on the instruction given to you by God, and whatever, you should endeavour to do that now, the opportunity might not be their tomorrow.
Also, If there is a call of God on your life, but you have been procrastinating; the earlier you take a step the better. What supposed to be done now, If you kept procrastinating, you are deferring your colourful future that is awaiting you.
The truth is, whatever you are doing now, apart from what God has called or told you to do, is a waste of time. A number of reasons why some believers could not fulfill the plan or purpose of God for their lives:
a. Some could not fulfill the purpose of God for their lives because they failed to discover it.
b. Whilst some could not because they did not start early with it.
When God's plan or purpose, also known as vision, is discovered, you go before God and tell Him that you have accepted It. Afterwards you do these:
a. You define the God-given plan or vision. You inquire to know the specific thing that God wanted you to do; what to do, when to do it, where to do it, and how to go by it.
b. The next thing is to acquire It; the plan or purpose or vision. It means you take on or engage in the doing of it. You take a step or do something about it.
c. You apply it. You work for the fulfilment of it.
The eduction or what we could bring out is; procrastination of your salvation should not be allowed. Making things right with God, that is, living a holy life should not be compromised. And the call of God on your life should not be delayed or put aside or discarded.
This is very important If you would not regret at the end of your journey on the earth.
Peace .
