1 Peter 3:1,6 (GOD’S WORD Translation)

• Marriage is the first institution of God. It was mainly instituted for companionship and procreation.

• When a man and woman come together in a marriage union, they entered into a covenant that is binding.
• Marriage covenant or vow should be treated with sanctity. Someone who is casual with the vows they made in such relationship, betrayed the covenant of the marriage union.
• Disloyalty was found in the lives of the Israelites who returned from exiles between the marriage partners. And it had negative consequences on them, and their relationship with God: "YOU CRY OUT, “WHY DOESN'T THE LORD ACCEPT MY WORSHIP?” I'LL TELL YOU WHY! BECAUSE THE LORD WITNESSED THE VOWS YOU AND YOUR WIFE MADE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG. BUT YOU HAVE BEEN UNFAITHFUL TO HER, THOUGH SHE REMAINED YOUR FAITHFUL PARTNER, THE WIFE OF YOUR MARRIAGE VOWS" (Malachi 2:14 NLT).

• God avenges and deals with whoever goes about to defraud and take advantage of the weak or the naive ones, the gullible ones, in the church (1 Thessalonians 4:6; 2 Timothy 3:6).
• Men are admonished in the book of Proverbs to drink from their own cisterns, and the running water from their own Well (Proverbs 5:15). That is, they should be contented or satisfied with their spouses (Proverbs 5:15-20).
• When a marriage covenant is broken, It can give the devil an opportunity to operate and afflict whoever did that.

• God would not be part to disloyalty, He wants sanctity:
3 GOD'S WILL IS FOR YOU TO BE HOLY, SO STAY AWAY FROM ALL SEXUAL SIN. 4 THEN EACH OF YOU WILL CONTROL HIS OWN BODY AND LIVE IN HOLINESS AND HONOUR—5 not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways. 6 NEVER HARM OR CHEAT A FELLOW BELIEVER IN THIS MATTER BY VIOLATING HIS WIFE, FOR THE LORD AVENGES ALL SUCH SINS, AS WE HAVE SOLEMNLY WARNED YOU BEFORE. 7 GOD HAS CALLED US TO LIVE HOLY LIVES, NOT IMPURE LIVES" (1 Thessalonians 4:3-7 NLT).

• For a marriage union to work or stand, the principles of the Bible had to be followed and practiced in such a relationship or union.
• If you lived contrary to the Word of God, as a believer in Christ Jesus, your marriage or home might not be what God wanted it to be.
• The blessings that supposed to be on that home, or the marriage union, might not be, because the Word of God is not held in high esteem.
• Such home, or the marriage union, is not being built with the right material—the Word of God (1 Corinthians 3:14).

• Let God lead in your marriage:
I. This is done when the Word of God is given credibility; when the first place is given to the principles of the Bible in a marriage union.
II. When the dictates of God, through His Word, are followed to the letter; in whatever you wanted to do in the home—family.
III. When you did not build your marriage, home, on the cultures and the traditions you live in, because they are always contradictory to the Word of God; but chose to build it on God's Word.
a. Let your home, marriage union, be built on the Word of God and nothing but the Word of God—the Bible.
b. The mixture of the culture and the tradition you live in, with the Word of God, would not work; and that may cause the marriage union to end in a disaster or destruction.
c. The tradition and culture that are contrary to the Word of God would be a toxic, and that would crash the boat of the marriage union.

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

• Whatever is not of God in your body that is working against your wellness and good health is cursed and completely uprooted in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
• Today marks the end of the affliction and never to rise again in your life in Jesus' mighty name.

STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. Ask that He will write your name in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).

• If you took the steps As highlighted above, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
