THE PROOF OF YOUR LOVE FOR GOD
11 BUT THE ANGEL OF THE LORD CALLED TO HIM FROM HEAVEN AND SAID, “ABRAHAM, ABRAHAM!” So he said, “Here I am.” 12 And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; FOR NOW I KNOW THAT YOU FEAR GOD, SINCE YOU HAVE NOT WITHHELD YOUR SON, YOUR ONLY SON, FROM ME."
Genesis 22:11,12 (NKJV)
• God would always prove the heart of whoever claims to love Him. He will demand for sacrifice of whatever you love most.
- The prove that you love God is the ability to be able to give or sacrifice what is dearest to you when He demanded for it (Genesis 22:1-3,10-12).
- God asked for Isaac to be sacrificed, being the heir which Abraham had waited for all his life to get, and Isaac is dearest to him, Abraham.
- God would not need Isaac to be slaughtered to Him, but He wanted to know the sincerity of Abraham's claim of love to Him—God (Psalm 50:9-12).
- God would not know or agree that you truly love Him until you are able to prove it with the sacrifice of whatever He requested from you to be given to Him.
- God would not need whatever He asked or demanded for per SE, because all things came from Him in the first place; He only wanted to prove or test your heart or loyalty (Psalm 50:9-13).
• The prove of a believer's love for God is what he or she is willing to sacrifice for Him (1 Kings 3:3,4).
- What have you sacrificed for God? And what are you willing to sacrifice for Him? It is not all about what you say with your mouth, What practically would you be able to forgo because of His Kingdom and His call on your life?
- If you are not able or ready to deny yourself anything or the most precious things to you, It means you are not ready for a deeper relationship with God; to the cutting or establishing of a covenant with Him.
- God was not convinced that Abraham did love Him truly until he wanted to kill or sacrifice his son, Isaac; as He, God, instructed him to do: "NOW I KNOW HOW FEARLESSLY YOU [Abraham] FEAR GOD; YOU DIDN'T HESITATE TO PLACE YOUR SON, YOUR DEAR SON, ON THE ALTAR FOR ME [God]” (Genesis 22:12 The Message).
- Likewise, God would not agree and be convinced that you completely or totally love Him until you are able to prove it with the sacrifice of whatever is most important or precious to you which He would demand from you (Genesis 22:1-3; 1 Kings 3:3,4).
• The sacrifice would always be a prove to test of the believer's heart in his or her relationship with God. The test or sacrifice in question would usually be in stages:
a. This would start by demanding for your time, your money, your job or career, or means of livelihood.
b. It later would grow to that of what you love, this is the sacrifice of things and people you affectionately love.
c. And the love of the self. The sacrifice of the self love is always difficult on many believers.
- All these sacrifices would be coming in sequence, one after another, not that all would happen at a time or once. The deeper or higher your relationship and communion with God, the deeper or higher He raises the standard.
- In other words, If your relationship and communion with God would be moved to another level or a greater height, a sarifice would be demanded. At every turn of the move or every stage of lifting, a sacrifice would be required or demanded before the lifting is done.
- Promotion or lifting would not just fall on your lap like a cherry, a sacrifice would definitely be demanded or required before the promotion or lifting.
And the essence of it, of such sacrifices, is to test your heart.
• Consequently, whoever is claiming that he or she loves God would not be taken seriously until the person is able to prove it, pass the test of sacrifice that would be brought to him or her.
- If the tests had not been passed, God would still see the person or believer as a joker. He would still be unsure to take you for your words, or believe what you have said, until you are able to prove it through the sacrifices you are willing to make or offer because of Him. Things you are willing to walk away from because you wanted to obey and please Him—God.
- The love you had for God is not only expressed verbally, It had to be proven with evidences, a series of sacrifices; before God could agree or believe that you truly love and reverence Him (Genesis 22
- God was not truly convinced that Abraham love and respect Him until he was able to prove it with the willingness and readiness to sacrifice his son, Isaac (Genesis 22:11,12). God would definitely ask for your Isaac, be prepared and ready to give it or offer it to Him, without murmuring or complaint.
• It is my prayer that you will not fail when such a test is brought your way, in the mighty name of Jesus.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, I declare your healing now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- Whatever would not allow you to serve God in peace, good health, and wellness, is cursed and completely uprooted in your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
