GOD'S MINISTERS AND THE PEOPLE UNDER THEIR LEADERSHIP 3
15 MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS; GIVE YOURSELF ENTIRELY TO THEM, that your progress may be evident to all.
16 TAKE HEED TO YOURSELF AND TO THE DOCTRINE [teaching]. Continue in them, FOR IN DOING THIS YOU WILL SAVE BOTH YOURSELF AND THOSE WHO HEAR YOU."
1 Timothy 4:15,16 (NKJV)
• A minister's total commitment—dedication to duty.
- Your commitment or the dedication to your assignment would determine your your finances and promotion.
- God would not promote a minister without observing his or her dedication and commitment to the work they are assigned to do.
- God would not bless you, pay you, If you did not work. When you are not diligent in the work, the assignment, God would not pay you: "HE WHO HAS A SLACK HAND BECOMES POOR, BUT THE HAND OF THE DILIGENT MAKES RICH" (Proverbs 10:4 NKJV)
"THE SOUL OF A LAZY MAN DESIRES, AND HAS NOTHING; BUT THE SOUL OF THE DILIGENT SHALL BE MADE RICH."
Proverbs 13:4 (NKJV)
"HAST THOU SEEN A MAN DILIGENT IN HIS WORK? HE SHALL STAND BEFORE KINGS; he shall not stand before the mean."
Proverbs 22:29 (DARBY)
- The reward for a lazy minister is poverty: FOR EVEN WHEN WE WERE WITH YOU, WE COMMANDED YOU THIS: "IF ANYONE WILL NOT WORK, NEITHER SHALL HE EAT" (2 Thessalonians 3:10 NKJV).
• That said, being diligent in the ministry work is not about running around without a tangible aim or goal or direction.
- You may think you are working whilst in the sight of God, you are not doing anything. What God considers a thorough commitment or dedication to duty or work is when you are doing the right thing which God has instructed you to do.
- I have been a victim of this in the past. When I thought I was working, moving from one town or city to another and I was struggling financially, things were tough. It was when I took time out to ask God why I was passing through the financial hardship, He told me I was not doing what He instructed me to do.
- What I was doing was the initial assignment given to me, but since He has given a new instruction, I should have moved on to the new work. God does not lead backward.
• Prompt Obedience.
a. When God instructed you to do a particular thing, He wanted it done promptly in obedience.
b. Delayed or partial obedience is equal to disobedience.
c. God demands for total and absolute obedience. God is a military, He rules by decrees, and He would not need anyone's opinion on whatever He wanted to do.
- The last instruction given to you should be attended to first, even If you were doing something else before the order was given to you. In other words, whatever God has just told you now should be attended to.
- May the LORD give you understanding.
• Note: At times, when God instructed one to do a particular thing, It might be a time you have no resources or money to get it done.
- All He wanted at such a time is your willingness to obey, and your prompt response by taking a step of faith on it.
- When God sees your willingness, faith action, and prompt obedience; He will open the doors of favour before you, to get the work done.
- At such a time, do not argue with God, or tell Him It cannot be done. All you needed to ask for is His help and backings:
a. That He should tell you how to go by it.
b. Are there people He would want you to meet on it? - When you had gotten the necessary information, you step out by faith, He would go with you and ahead of you to prepare the ground.
- What God detests, that which displeases Him, is Unbelief. Faith pleases God but Unbelief displeases Him (Hebrews 11:6).
- When He gives you an instruction, He does not want any argument. Even If the step He commanded to be taken is absurd, go ahead anyway and take the step.
- Those who mocked you today would come to celebrate you, as God honours your faith, when they see the fruits or results of your step of faith—obedience.
- Some ministers, because of what other people would say, they did not obey the instruction given to them by God. Let your obedience be prompt.
• It is my prayer you will not miss it in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, receive your healing now in Jesus' mighty name.
- Whatever is not planted in your body by God that is working against your health and wellness is cursed and totally uprooted in Jesus' mighty name.
Peace!
