FOR GOOD MEASURE

BEING HATED FOR THE TRUTH

"IF THE WORLD HATES YOU, you know that it hated Me before it hated you."
John 15:18 (NKJV)

Comment: A number of believers are disturbed when they are ostracized or persecuted by the people of the world. If you want to be a true disciple of Christ Jesus, you want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus, you would surely be persecuted, marginalized, or ostracized (2 Timothy 3:12). Being the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16); a light where you work, live, or wherever you find yourself, would provoke hatred or persecution from the ungodly.
Being a light exposes the hidden or dirty things in the life of the ungodly, they would not want you. The world hates the light, Jesus Christ and His Word or Teaching, because their work is evil. Whoever is living in Sin, doing evil, would not want the light (John 3:19-21). Thus, being a light where you are, living in line with God's Word or principles, makes you an enemy of whoever is living in Sin wherever you might find yourself. One of the things that light does is, it dispels darkness, and light also reveals hidden things. Dirty and hidden things of darkness are revealed or made known where the Word of God is practiced or lived. Living the Word of God is a threat, a disgusting thing, to those who live in Sin. Do not be perturbed, continue to walk in the light of God's Word. Peace.
