BECOMING HIS FRIEND

"YOU ARE MY FRIENDS IF YOU DO WHATEVER I COMMAND YOU."
John 15:14 (NKJV)

Comment: Your relationship with God through Jesus Christ moves to the friendship level when you become a doer of His Word. What endeared you to the heart of God is the doing or practicing or obedience to His Word.
Abraham is called a friend of God because he walked with God in obedience to God's words (Isaiah 41:8; James 2:23). Whatever instruction given to him by God, he always carried out promptly: "BY FAITH ABRAHAM OBEYED WHEN HE WAS CALLED TO GO OUT TO THE PLACE WHICH HE WOULD RECEIVE AS AN INHERITANCE. AND HE WENT OUT, NOT KNOWING WHERE HE WAS GOING" (Hebrews 11:8 NKJV).
