A SPIRIT OF DIVINATION

"THIS GIRL FOLLOWED PAUL AND US, and cried out, saying, "These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation."
Acts 16:17 (NKJV)

Comment: A demon known as the spirit of divination or familiar spirit might speak through someone, and the words spoken might be right or accurate (Acts 16:16,17); that does not mean you should accept what is said, or accommodate the person being used by the devil to speak (Acts 16:18).
Paul was exasperated or annoyed by the devil operating through the damsel, he cast the demon out of her and he came out of her instantly (Acts 16:18).
Demons are not to be dialogued with. In Jesus' earthly Ministry, He does not always allow them to speak:
23 NOW THERE WAS A MAN IN THEIR SYNAGOGUE WITH AN UNCLEAN SPIRIT. And he cried out, 24 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” 25 BUT JESUS REBUKED HIM, SAYING, 8 “BE QUIET, AND COME OUT OF HIM!” (Mark 1:23-25 NKJV).
You have been given the authority to tread on serpent and scorpions and all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Thus, do not shy away from taking authority over any power of darkness that surfaces wherever you find yourself. Peace.
