THE STRONGHOLDS IN THE MIND 1

4 FOR the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God FOR PULLING DOWN STRONGHOLDS, 5 CASTING DOWN ARGUMENTS AND EVERY HIGH THING THAT EXALTS ITSELF AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, BRINGING EVERY THOUGHT INTO CAPTIVITY TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST."
2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (NKJV)

• If someone is saved or born-again the spirit of the person is regenerated or reborn—becomes a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

  • However, the soul or the mind had to be renewed. The main stronghold of the enemy, the devil, is the mind of Man or humans. The thoughts in the mind of a person held him or her captive (2 Corinthians 10:4,5).
  • These thoughts that had been there over time had to be fought and be dislodged through the knowledge of the Word of God:
3 FOR THOUGH WE WALK IN THE FLESH, WE DO NOT WAR ACCORDING TO THE FLESH. 4 FOR THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE ARE NOT CARNAL BUT MIGHTY IN GOD FOR PULLING DOWN STRONGHOLDS, 5 CASTING DOWN ARGUMENTS AND EVERY HIGH THING THAT EXALTS ITSELF AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, BRINGING EVERY THOUGHT INTO CAPTIVITY TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST" (2 Corinthians 10:3–5 (NKJV).
  • The region where the warfare takes place in the life of anyone; an unbeliever or a carnal believer or a believer who is not circumspect, is the mind—the thought life of the person.
  • If the stronghold in the mind can be pulled down, the person would be completely liberated and be won to the Lord's side.

• The devil who is called the god of this world usually blindfolds the mind of the unbelievers not to be able to see the light of the glorious gospel—not to believe or accept the good news of Christ Jesus:
3 BUT EVEN IF OUR GOSPEL IS VEILED, IT IS VEILED TO THOSE WHO ARE PERISHING, 4 WHOSE MINDS THE god OF THIS AGE HAS BLINDED, WHO DO NOT BELIEVE, LEST THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL OF THE GLORY OF CHRIST, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD, SHOULD SHINE ON THEM" (2 Corinthians 4:3,4 NKJV).

  • This is where the aggressive, strong or emphatic teaching of the Word of God comes in. Some ministers fight and wage war against the devil, fighting the principalities and powers and all forces in the air, land, and water or sea; but refused to teach their people the Word of God. No matter the fervency of the prayer prayed, If the people being prayed for are not taught the Word of God; their liberation or deliverance would not be visible or materialize.
  • This is the reason why the devil always fights the genuine teaching of the undiluted Word of God. Because he knows If the people are exposed to the teaching of the Word of God, under the leading of the Holy Spirit, consistently; the strongholds of negative thoughts—arguments and the high things that exalted itself against the knowledge of God—would be pulled down or flattened (2 Corinthians 10:4,5).

• The greatest deliverance and liberation takes place in the mind of an individual believer after being born-again.

  • A person who claims to be saved but yet to be transformed in his or her mind, or thought, would end up becoming a soulish and carnal or fleshly believer (Romans 8:6,7; 12:2; Ephesians 4:23).
  • Such would be body-ruled and would not be able to walk in the spirit and please God (Romans 8:5-8; Galatians 5:16). Thus, the mind of an individual believer is where the battles take place, It is the stronghold of Satan, where the negative thoughts that are fighting against the counsel and knowledge of God is dwelling.
  • If the strongholds in the mind had not been dethroned or pulled down, the person, the believer, would not be able to walk in the spirit. Such would still be controlled by the thoughts in the mind that are contrary to the knowledge of God. And It is only through the knowledge of the Word of God that the strongholds of negative thoughts in the mind can be pulled down.

• The mind after being born-again remains dirty or polluted, thus, It takes a deliberate effort in the reading, studying, and pondering on the Word of God to transform the mind of a believer (Romans 1:28; 12:2; James 1:21).

  • This process takes time and should be consistently done in order to have a meaningful result. If It is being done erratically, the result would not be speeded. It takes consistency to combat or counteract the thoughts or ideas and imaginations that had become a stronghold that is resisting or fighting against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5).
  • A mind being exposed to the consistent study of the knowledge of God's Word is purged and purified through the water of the Word by the Holy Spirit.
  • When a believer's mind is purged or purified or transformed, It would be in a good state or position to work with the recreated human spirit, the inward Man, where the intuitions or messages are received.
  • God does not want a believer's mind to be useless or functionless or inactive, but It had to be under the control of the Holy Spirit via the recreated human spirit of the believer.
  • The renewed mind, filled or saturated or preoccupied with the Word of God, would be an instrument or a tool to fact-check whatever a believer supposedly received from the spirit, inward Man, As an intuition.
  • When your mind is transformed, preoccupied with the Word of God, It would be in a good shape or state or condition to scrutinize whatever you supposedly received intuitively, whether the source is of God or not; through the repository or container where the Word is deposited or stored in the soul—mind.

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

  • The hold is totally broken and the Affliction will never rise again in Jesus' mighty name.
    Peace!
