SUNDAYS IN MY TOWN: CHURCH ALL THE WAY😂

Good morning beautiful people with beautiful hearts.

This is Eminimo Chantell and I am reporting live from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria😂. Isnt it already amazing how Steemit connects people around the world? Today you are about to learn what goes on in the southern parts of my country on a Sunday(s). A typical Sunday I mean.

OK, we are not on a volcanic belt here so we do not expect any natural disasters, no, not Sundays or any other day.

Just like what people say about America, I can behold to tell you that our dear State Akwa Ibom was founded on Christian principles by Christian fathers. Firstly, the name is our native dialect which translates in English as " The Might God of the universe ". That's something to hold on to.

On a typical Sunday morning, 98% of the population (Judging from the feeling in town) are in church, many denominations, Catholics, Pentecostals and others. Surprisingly, we are Africans but we do not have up to one percent of our population practicing graditional religion and yes, we are civilised and have freedom of worship.

In churches a few people frown at pastors who teach the Grace of Jesus Christ as our salvation, people would prefare that salvation comes with holiness which means you have to work for it which actually is not the Bible way.

Other pastors preach prolerity as a usually topic and that because most people here are living bellow tbjer innermost expectations and as such need to better their lives in earnings and Yes, the pastor tells them that God can do that for them. You want to keep it what I think about that? I think it is truth, God actually is prosperity.

Now the majority who are with the orthodox church friends totally at such preaching, they say pastors want to show the congregation when he calls for a seed offering to connect with the blessings he has pronounced by his sermon. Well, I leave that to you to decide. I have been sowing seeds myself and yes, it is a working principle.

Well, service ends by afternoon, most churches have more than one service sessions by the way. After service, people group around in church as associations trying to plan for Christian activities during the week and generally engaging each other with love. Beautiful 🌹🌹

After that, some people will return home for lunch while some go visiting and attending receptions of child dedications etc.

On evenings, most people stay out in bars and fields and other recreational centres, quite a wonderful experience especially when you have the cash to throw around.

It's a town where politics is main stream and business sector follows so it is not usually to see political meetings here and there and heated conversations on politics and the likes.

It's really a true Christian state, people even go house to house reaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

YES, some people will still get drunk, pick a prostitute or gamble on a Sunday evening.
