The Transaction

And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found
mandrakes in the field, and
brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son's mandrakes. And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son's mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son's mandrakes. And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said,Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.

Introduction

Reuben had attained an age where he could go to the field with his father. This is indicative of
the length of time the fight between Leah and Rachel lasted. By inference, there are things we
might need to fight for in prayer for a while before seeing any results. Our text references that
Reuben went out in the days of the wheat harvest which means that the purpose of going to the field was to get wheat but he also found mandrakes. I would like to assume that it wasn't the season for mandrakes which is why the bible states that he found them; therefore it must have been a scarce commodity with high demand and invariably expensive. This explains why Rachel requested for some and was ready to do anything to have them. Leah
immediately realizing that her son's mandrakes had put her in a place of advantage used it as
a negotiating tool to get her husband back, and Rachel consented. Unknown to Jacob, a
transaction which had a binding effect on him had taken place between his two wives. This
implies that there are people connected to us who can enter into some transactions that will
be binding on us. Such people will include but are not limited to our parents, anyone in our ancestry and our spouses. It is important to highlight that Jesus Christ not only entered into a transaction on the cross of Calvary on our behalf, but this transaction supersedes any other kind of transaction under the earth, in the earth and in heaven. This means that any untoward or negative transaction that people have entered into that is binding over our lives is not only subject to the transaction of the cross of Calvary but can be reversed on the account of that Transaction in Jesus Name. Has someone in your bloodline entered into a transaction that has created a cycle of divorce, failure, barrenness or premature death in your family? I declare that on the account of the transaction of the finished work of Calvary every negative transaction is nullified in Jesus Name.

Prayer

Father, I stand upon the finished work of Calvary and I nullify every transaction that perpetuates premature death, barrenness, failure and divorce in my bloodline in Jesus Name.
