Welcome to my first ever series of post "Did you know that?!" I hope that you'll learn something to this post. So you probably wandering in which part that the Philippines was mentioned. No, it's not Philippians.
Ruy López de Villalobos, a spanish the explorer who named the Island of Leyte and Samar as Las Islas Pilipinas in honor of the Prince of Asturia, Philip II, and later became the King of Spain. We all know that prior Spaniards discovered Philippines we have an community that is already established.

After the death of King Solomon, Ophir was abandoned and soon forgotten. After the passage of hundreds of years nobody would know where or what is Ophir. The other word associated with Ophir is the word "Tarshish." Nobody also knew what it meant. In old translations of the Bible it was Supposed also to be a place. However, in new translations of the Bible, it is Used to refer to the fleet that went to Ophir.
It was mentioned in the bible that King Solomon is getting high class gold and precious stone for creating temples. If Ophir was really a portion of the Philippines do you think it has something to do with Yamashita treasure?

The Yamashita treasure was another collection of gold by the Japanese Imperial Army and had no connection with the treasures that were brought to Spain from Ophir (Philippines) as this was in the year 1521 while the Japanese regime was in the year 1942-1945. Indeed, the Philippines has an abundance of natural treasures until this day... It was the Marcoses who amassed all of the Yamashita Treasures and later all the other Corrupt Politicians.

The Philippines have no stories of finding ape bones anywhere, nor it is rich in ivory. It is rich in gold but not so much in silver.
As for the yamashita treasure, i read sometime ago that these were looted gold of the people from places that the japanese went to war with, which they hid in the Philippines. These treasures were not just from the Philippines.
Unless gold mining had been happening in the Philippines during that time the Bible was written.

I think the speculation is about the Tarshish fleet coming to the Philippines and that is the same Yamashita treasure that Japanese supposedly hid in the Philippines. It would need more evidence to prove that but great thought provoking theory nonetheless.
