Verse Of The Day: God's Name Is A Place Of Protection

in #christianity7 years ago

The name of the Lord is a fortified tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.
Proverbs 18:10 NIV

There are times in our lives that we feel like we are rowing nowhere on a dark sea. The only hope for us to be safe and secured is to find a light that could lead us to its land. In it also are the provisions we need, the comfort, and the peace.

There are many lights in this world. But not all will lead us to the right path. The world has offered many gods and beliefs that people might consider as lights but the only true light that leads us to real safety is the Almighty God. In Him there is security. In Him there is provision. In Him there is hope, peace, and love that the world could not ever give.

Wealth isn't even enough for security.

The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.
Proverbs 18:11

But God is more than enough. He is the one who created the world, the universe. If the one we call is the one who created these, then there's no need to worry about anything. He is in control. Imagine he's been controlling the universe, the heavenly bodies in perfect harmony. How much more if God is the one who takes charge of our lives.

Also, it is not just the power He has that makes us to run to Him, but it's the love He gives. Isn't it amazing that this source of light gave off His beloved One who shared His light with Him from eternity just to die for our sins? So, let's not stay in the darkness. Let's run through His Son, Jesus, shall we?

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
John 12:46

There are many lights in this world. But not all will lead us to the right path.
