The last generation

Let's take a look at the prophecies referring to the second scoming of the messiah. Jesus said:

Matthew 24 KJV
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

The fig tree in the Bible always refers to the nation of Israel.  We all know that after the Holocaust, on May 14 1948, the nation of Israel was established. As Jesus said, the generation shall not pass away until Israel's rebirth and the return of the Jews to their country. But how long is the generation according to the Bible? The answer can be found in Psalms 90:10

10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

May 14 1948 + exacly 70 years would be May 14 2018. When we count 80, we will receive the year 2028, but we know that we must also take into account and count the 7 years of tribulation.
Will something significant soon take place?
