Psalm 1:4
- Below is the dangerous place the ungodly find themselves. It is the way of the ungodly.
The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
- The ungodly are not so
The righteous man has the following attribues:
- He has nourishment and continual life
- He is alive
- He is fruitful
- He is prosperous
- He is stable as a tree
These attributes do not pertain to the ungodly. Don't be fooled, it might sometime seem that the ungodly have the above attributes more than the righteous, that the ungodly have these attributes. But alas, it is NOT SO! It can be said that the ungodly don't have these things at all because they are fleeting in the life of the ungodly.
- Are like the chaff which the wind drives away
Around a kernel of grain is the light "shell" called chaff. Before the kernel of grain can be ground into flour, the chaff must be stripped away. Chaff can be separated from the grain by throwing a scoopful into the wind and allowing the wind to drive away the chaff. This is how light and weak chaff is. Now the ungodly are like this. They are unstable, and they lack in substance.
Chaff can be described as unserviceable, dead, worthless and without substance. Easily carried away.
Do NOT become like this dear reader!
Be like the righteous, live like the righteous. Or you can live like the ungodly, and go down the wide road with the wide gate. The consequences are dangerous and real. Do not be deceived by the way you choose to live this life you have been given. The choice is yours.
