In His footsteps - Jesus did something extraordinary!

I heard a sermon this morning about the following scripture that I would like to share with you:

John 9:1-2 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I[a] must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
8 Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind[b] said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?”
9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.”[c]
He said, “I am he.”
10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?”
11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of[d] Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”

Apart from the fact here that Jesus did a miracle and that it is His will to heal us we see the following:

A disability or a sickness is not always a sign of sin in a person's life as Jesus here clearly stated that nobody sinned in this case but that he was this way so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

In those days it where the tradition to spit between you and a sick person or a person of a lower standing, like a leper, a begger or a lame person. The Pharisees also would spit if they thought someone to be sinner and they were clean. So when Jesus did this, His disciples thought He was doing the same. Jesus went on to kneel on the ground and put his fingers in the spit and started to make a clay. In those days it would have been unthinkable for anyone to do such a thing. Jesus did not hesitate to become dirty in order to help this man.

Today we tend to do the same as all the other people in the Bible. We would also distance us from people that look sick, dirty or drunk. Jesus unlike us, stretch out His hands to those that disgust other people, like the tax collector in the Bible. We should follow in his footsteps and do the same. Don't judge the book by its cover but reach out to demonstrate God's love to a lost world.

Jesus took this to the extreme when He took all our filthy sins on Him when he died in our place, so that we can be redeemed and become clean.
2 Cor 5:21 "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

Amen brother. Christ's example of humility and service are the model by which we ought to live. This is what it means to "follow the Way".

Thanks for reading and supporting May God bless you and you Familey

We serve our loving Creator YHWH who stepped into time, laying down His Royalty and getting right in the middle of humanity to restore the relationship that was lost. Jesus became the way when it seemed that there was no way to reconcile man back to God. He was and is the only answer, Jesus chose to become the bridge that gives us access to our Divine Inheritance. Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life and no one has access to The Heavenly Father except through Jesus. John 14:6 Thank you for sharing this loving message of how God cares so much for all of us. I follow you, upvote and resteem to share the message of Gods Faithfulness!!! I pray for your blessings and peace. Shalom dear friend, Brother Charlz
