Our family is at peace with the situation. In some ways, I think we are all relieved for her because what's happening is that she's getting sleepier and sleepier with each day for the past week or so and that's a much gentler thing than what she was experiencing with the disease. The Alzheimer's battle is pretty awful, much worse than the cancer my Nana died from. Grandma has been basically terrified and panicked constantly for the past few years and in many ways, it's easier to see her resting quietly in bed than to watch her not knowing anything about what's going on and be angry and terrified about it. But we still know the last little bit of her is slipping away and that's what's sad.

It is sad. But a good way to go. I wish you all continued peace and a good goodbye.
