The Christian-Trail

Greetings fellow Steemians.

My name is @majes and I'd like to take this opportunity to re-introduce the Christian Trail and clarify a few changes we have made since Hardfork 19.

The @christian-trail was born on December 25th 2016 as a result of a conversation between myself, @papa-pepper, @nextgen622, and @daveks. I was already running my own curation trail they were following, and @nextgen622 suggested we needed a Christian Trail.

Everyone agreed this was a good idea, but this trail would be different; it wouldn't be about curation rewards; just voting on what the curator thought was a good bet for earning rewards. This trail would be about supporting good Christian content and helping to build a Christian Community on Steemit. The @christian-trail was born..

I created the account and I powered it up, we were invited to join in with other trails but I declined that offer, I wanted this trail to stand on it's on. And it does that to this day, not affiliated with any other trail.

I also created the @christiantrail account and powered it up, and that account I joined to my own trail and the @christian-trail. In this way it could earn curation rewards to better support the main @christian-trail account. I also added my @idnit curation trail to this trail and it remains there today, as does my main @majes trail.

So that's what the @christian-trail is and how it began, I hope it also explains why you will see the @christiantrail account voting with my trail but not the @christian-trail. If you join the Christian-Trail via Streemian you will be following the @christian-trail account.

Hardfork 19 Changes

Due to the changes in voting power after Hardfork 19 we are recommending that everyone re-evaluate the voting power allocated to our trails. I personally have set mine to 20% because the @christian-trail is a minnow and votes at 100%. Also, since we now have a 7 day payout window, please consider raising the Max Post Age to 10080 mins.

In the past I have strived to vote about 10 times per day with this trail, but as the community is growing fast and everyone is lowering their vote weight, I am now going to attempt 20 votes per day. But this trail can't support everyone, we must support one another and use this trail as a resource to help build the community.

As of this posting, Steemit.chat is down; but we do have the #christian-links channel there and everyone is welcome to submit links there. Open conversation is also welcome in that channel. If you are interested in helping curate for this trail please reach out to me directly @majes.

And lastly, I run a backup witness that also follows this trail, please consider voting idnit for witness via the top right dropdown menu witness voting page and help support our efforts. You will need to scroll to the bottom of the page and type in "idnit" as it is not in the top 50 witness list :)

Be Blessed.

Sort:

I can't do anything without God through the Love of Jesus Christ.

I vote at 100% power for Christian content that I agree with. If I don't agree, and if the content is core doctrine eg salvation and to a lesser extent end-times then my vote % may be lower, or I may vote at all.

I intend to support this channel, and other christians channels with 100% of my voting power.

Thank you for creating this trail!

You are most welcome my friend. I try and resteem a lot of the content whether I agree 100% or not. I firmly believe we are all flawed yet equal at the foot of the cross...

Blessings.

I agree:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23)

But we are not all equal at the foot of the cross IMHO (maybe I have misunderstood your intent or taken you out of context - please forgive and correct me if I have)?

Matthew 7 tells us that many people proclaiming and believing themselves to be christians will be rejected by Jesus. We are either saved or unsaved, simple - anything else is semantics and superfluous. God is not going to hear their case when they ask him why he cast them in to hell - he already knows their heart and has made his judgement. I'm a stickler for what the bible tells us about salvation.

Please do not take my comments the wrong way or out of context. I sincerely appreciate what you are doing with this trail and I will support you and pray that it helps many people find salvation - but I won't support false doctrine (and I am not saying that you do). I am merely stating my position. If a post is doctrinally sound I will give it a 100% upvote, if it isn't, I will give it a lesser a upvote, if any at all.

I don't want to get into a doctrinal discussion with you. There is already enough division in Christendom. I'm simply sharing my voting intent.

Galatians 1:6-8

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

If I preach another gospel I will be accursed so this is non-negotiable for me. While the apostles were alive false doctrines and gospels were already spreading. Satan is incredibly cunning. God Bless.

What I mean by "all equal at the foot of the cross" is he knows our hearts and he will judge us all, I will not.

With that said, there has been what appears to me out right blasphemy on Steemit; I will not vote for that no...

But I see it like this, if you gave to a widow woman help because you believed she needed it, then it was found that in fact she was a scam artist who would be at fault you or her ?

We could debate for days and perhaps there is a place for that. But if it isn't bringing anyone to the Lord then what Glory is it for him ?

I am also wondering if you understand the voting adjustment statement in my post. If you aren't following the trail via Streemian it doesn't apply to you :)

Blessings.

God will not judge me, or any other saint.

Romans 8:1 - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

With that said, there has been what appears to me out right blasphemy on Steemit; I will not vote for that no...

That's great to hear.

But I see it like this, if you gave to a widow woman help because you believed she needed it, then it was found that in fact she was a scam artist who would be at fault you or her ?

Her

No, it seems that I didn't understand the full context of your post. I don't use Streemian. I was commenting on manual posts. But this now raises a serious question - why would a Christian allow a bot to vote for them on Christian doctrine and how does a bot know the difference between true and false doctrine?

I'm glad you are a saint, must me lonely up there...

A bot doesn't vote....

All saved believers are saints, it's not lonely and everyone is welcome.

Please tell me what the purpose of Streemian christian-trail is? I thought that Streemian was created so that people could auto-vote? I've been invited to join many times and everyone person that invited me told me that this was why I should join.

Were they lying to me? If so, please tell me so that I can direct them to this post.

Why are Christians using Streemian other than for the purpose of auto-voting? If It has another purpose please tell me what it is because I don't know any other reason - this is what I have been told.

You wrote this in your post:

but this trail would be different; it wouldn't be about curation rewards; just voting on what the curator thought was a good bet for earning rewards.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that sounds to me like the purpose of @christian-trail is earning rewards?

I just want the truth - please be straight with me. God Bless.

Steemvoter autovotes for authors you choose.
Streemian follows Curators votes that you choose.

Perhaps you have confused the two.

The purpose of the Christian-Trail is so Christians can support one another by lending some of their Steem Power and time to the trail to help grow the Christian Community.

That statement is referring to "Different" from my other trail that was created to earn curation rewards for myself and my followers. I was in the top 100 curators for ages, we earned well...

Until very recently, most Christian related post earned very little, therefor there were no curation rewards. This is what was meant by that statement.

If you feel you have to be "talked into" something then very likely you shouldn't do it.

We certainly are not trying to talk you into anything..
We're simply making everyone aware of the changes we are implementing..

Wow. I'm so happy to see someone like you who not only gets the Gospel but is also passionate about it. I was raised Muslim and can sometimes get really passionate about doctrinal differences like Paul did with people who try to pervert the Gospel and mix or conflate faith with works. God bless you man. I threw you a follow...

I'm so glad that you found Jesus and thank you for the encouraging comment and follow. I've been following you for a little while after I read your content. Keep it up. God bless you brother.

Thanks bro! God bless you too :]

Oh dear, I am brand new and understand nothing about vote weight. I just thought you clicked on the Upvote symbol. What am I missing?

When you reach a higher reputation level (or amount of Steem Power) - I am not sure which. You will then see a slider that allows you to adjust your vote from 1%-100%. If you vote at 100% you have 10 votes per day as it keeps topping itself up. You should be able to find some good articles about it - just click the search button (magnifying glass) at the top of the page and do a search. Try to find more recent articles.

You can check your voting power here https://steemnow.com - enter your username in the top right corner. I hope this helps.

Edit: Just saw this article which will explain a bit more - https://steemit.com/steemit/@calamus056/how-to-improve-your-curation-quality

Thanks! There is so much to learn!

I'll have to check where my percentage is set and potentially readjust it too. I definitely want to support this effort and use my power to encourage others, so I will conitnue to support this trail.

Thanks Papa, the trail has grown considerably and I felt we all should adjust our voting power. It's never been about making anyone rich lol..

Seriously, with no way to check voting power remaining on Steemit I fear some will fall too low if they aren't aware of the changes. For those that don't know, voting power level can be checked on several other sites:

https://steemdb.com
https://steemd.com
https://steemstats.com

etc, etc :)

Right, I was never in this for curation rewards. Thanks @majes!

Also, about how many times per day does the trail vote?

Looks like they vote about 20 times since the hardfork was implemented

I am going to start striving for 20 votes per day with this trail, I'll have to reduce the votes from my own trail but since this community is growing I think it's time...

But, the full effects of HF19 are still unknown so I might have to adjust that as well. I have a few accounts I know follow this trail in steemstats and I try and keep everyone above 70% voting power.

Also, larger accounts such as your own should feel free to adjust as low as needed. A 1% vote from a dolphin should no longer be laughed at lol...

@majes let me know if I can be of any help from myside
I am not too bright to do any kind of computer thing but if you teach me I can also be worth of a help.

Sure, thanks my friend. Will likely set you up as moderator in the chat channel so you can keep out the riff-raff :)

Seriously, I'd like to start having some meeting in that chat channel maybe once a week or so and discuss how things are going and where we might want to go moving forward.

Still adjusting to the new voting rules and just noticed the accounts are getting low on voting power. Soooo.....

thank you keep me posted

I appreciate you informing the #christian and #christian-trail community. I wasn't fully informed in how it functioned, but now feel I have a better grasp of it's functionality.

I'll look into adding some voting power to the Streemian trail.

Thanks for your support..

Blessings.

Thank you for sharing this.

I am new here, so you may have to explain to me how I can help your posts and links, I am happy to do anything that I can. So far, I have received a great deal of support for the two posts I have made so far, so I am excited about posting on this site on a daily basis. Please let me know what I can do

Hi Lareina, welcome to Steemit !!

For now just follow this account and help us support the authors that we resteem, follow them too if you like their post.

You can vote for our witness is you like and in time when you are more familiar with how Steemit works you may choose to join the trail...

It takes a little time to find your way around here but it is a great community. We are following you now :)

Blessings.

Wonderful, I'll follow This. God Bless!

Welcome aboard !!

Blessings.

I support your changes, upvoted and followed!

Thank you !

Blessings.

I really liked this trail account , following and In the future I'll create some original christian content myself

Excellent !!

Thanks for your support !

Just 3 questions:

  • Do you support Catholic related content?
  • Do you support Chastity?
  • And what do you think about "new bible books"?

My personal beliefs are not really what this trail is about.

Hopefully we can someday have curators to help me choose content to be supported. But since you asked.

I am a Baptist, while I don't personally support anything Catholic I am not going to attempt to sit in judgment of them either. We are all flawed..

If by Chastity you mean refraining from Sex before marriage and extramarital sex then of course..

As for the "new" books, it's pretty obvious to me which one they are all trying to change..

But again, if this was to become a debating floor where equally lost souls fought one another rather than trying to help one another then I would not wish to be involved...

I was trying to get an idea of who Is behind the account . That's all I do believe we are all flawed and in fact it was my own lack of trust in the project that led me to ask those question.

I completely agree with your opinions and I do not wish to debate them

I am with you @majes
This is without doubt.
