Qualcomm Introduces New Reference of VR Design
JAKARTA - In the midst of product announcements and new features, Qualcomm introduced a new reference for the VR design based on the Snapdragon 845 chipset.
Reporting from Phone Arena, the main thing of the new VR platform offers low latency, high frame rate, and smooth tracker performance of the head, said Qualcomm.
One of the attractive platform features is a new function called Adreno Foveation, which tracks the eyes of users and concentrates the highest graphics sources into the same area to provide the best and sharpest graphics.
Not only that, this platform also introduces Roomscale, which tracks the user's body, in addition to the room where the user is located, allowing users to enjoy the virtual world experience without worrying about tripping around.
Qualcomm says that this functionality is the first to be present in standalone VR devices.
In terms of performance, the platform brings a graphics performance called 30 percent faster and 30 percent more power-efficient than its Snapdragon 835-based predecessor.
Qualcomm previously reported, the company is driving the growth of 4G smartphones. As is known, 4G smartphone growth in Indonesia is still a concern of some parties.
The reason, 2G phone users in Indonesia are still many. This makes Qualcomm set up 4G smartphones at an affordable price. In cooperation with PT TSM, Qualcomm has a goal to encourage migration of smart phone users in Indonesia from 2G to 4G.
Director of Qualcomm Indonesia, Shannedy Ong, said the cheap phone is already available along with the technology that completes it. But he can not confirm when the phone is released to the market. Shannedy Ong said the sales of mobile phones that depend on existing operators in Indonesia.
