A Chinese university student, with the help of two her classmates, has spent three months in building “a mini Chongqing old town” – a model made from wood, clay and plaster.
Wu Yuying, who comes from central China’s Hunan Province, has a craze about the local constructions and lives of Chongqing, the Municipality in southwest China.
Wu thought it would be great to keep the memory of Chongqing by crafts, after finding that part of the 18 Steps – a symbol of the old towns in mountainous city – has been demolished.
The manual work has been donated to the Chongqing University which Wu studies in. “I like the old streets in rainy days. It is warm and makes me feel like home,” she said.
