Round 1 !
Hikaru Nakamura vs Wesley So
Hikaru Nakamura
Basic Information
Full name: Hikaru Nakamura
Birthplace: Hirakata. Osaka, Japan
Born: December 9, 1987(age 28)
Title: Grandmaster (2003)
FIDE Rating: 2787 (October 2016), (Live rating 2779, updated December 7th)
Peak Rating: 2816 (December 2015)
Ranking: No. 9 (December 7th, Fide live ranking)
Peak Ranking: No. 2(October 2015
Hikaru Nakamura is American Grandmaster who has been one of the top ten players in the world since 2010, and has won the U.S Championship 3 times and has numerous victories in top chess events. He has been the top rated U.S player for years but has lately been overtaken by Wesley So.
Hikaru Nakamura is known for his aggressive and creative style, and he is a fierce fighter, not the kind of guy to agree to a quick draw. His aggressive style sometimes backfires, however, and he loses the occasional game that could have otherwise been a draw because he overpresses and takes too many risks.
Wesley So
Basic Information
Full name:Wesley Barbasa So
Born: October9,1993(age23)
Birthplace: Bacoor, Cavite,Philippines
Title: Grandmaster(2008)
FIDE Rating: 2794(September 2016)
Peak Rating: 2794( September 2016)
Wesley So is a rising star, currently the top U.S player, above Hikaru Nakamura, although their rating is extremely close, separated by only 15 points in the live rating list. He is currently number 5 in the world rankings, and seems to be in great shape, reaching his peak rating of 2794 in September 2016, the exact rating that he still holds.
Just like Nakamura, So is an aggressive player, but he has a more solid and position style than Nakamura, and has expressed admiration for the style of the former world champion Vishy Anand, a player who combines solidity with uncompromising and aggressive play. At 23 years old, Wesley So is a player with massive potential, and we should not be very surprised to see him as a challenger for the world championship title.
The Matchup
This is an all-American matchup, between two child prodigies, who are both in world chess elite, part of the exclusive club referred to as super-Grandmasters. Hikaru Nakamura is the older and more experienced player, and he held the world number 2 ranking in 2015. Many saw Hikaru as the most natural challenger to the world champion Magnus Carlsen. Hikaru has not had a great year since then, however, and he has fallen in the world ranking, to number 9. He is a very aggressive, creative and enterprising player, and this sometimes leads to somewhat more uneven results than more solid players like Kramnik.
In comparison, Wesley So is a slightly more solid player, although he is also known for active and aggressive play. Hikaru has the white pieces in this game, and the white player, especially if this player is Hikaru Nakamura, will try to get an advantage in the opening. Opening preparation is normally a big part of these top events, and the one having the white pieces will often try to catch the opponent in an unfamiliar line, or simply get a position that they are more familiar and/or comfortable with than their opponent.

How to Play
Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).
Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).
After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.
The Stake Pool:
The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.
30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.
70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.
Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.
Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.
Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.

@chessmasters is not a traditional betting platform and no fiat currency is used as rewards or in casting bets; as such does not fall under any gaming and gambling jurisdictions; but even so, users are urged to first consult with the laws and age restrictions of their countries.
@chessmasters in the unlikely event that when the Stake Pool is divided up between the winners and the nomenclature resolution goes below the third decimal place (example: 0.0001), then Steem decimal restrictions won’t allow a payout and the pool will carry over to the next game.
