Match Preview
We are at a critical point in the match!. After a series of 7 draws, Sergey Karjakin won game 8 , after Magnus Carlsen pressed his luck in time trouble. In several occasions he had the possibility to head for a stable position, but instead made risky attempts, seemingly desperate for a win.
He was also close to losing game 9, but salvaged a draw, by the skin of his teeth. However, Carlsen struck back in Game 10, and equalized the score, in a Classic Carlsen grind. In game 11 Karjakin will have the white pieces, and he has the possibility to go for a win, and regain the lead. If the score is still equal after game 12, there will be tie-breaks, which consists of games with a shorter time control, all within one day. If Carlsen holds the draw in this game he has the chance to strike the final blow in game 12.

The Matchup
This is a match between two players with a very similar style, where Magnus Carlsen is objectively the stronger, as the rating is a reliable indication of chess strength, and Magnus Carlsen has been dominating world chess for years. And some experts have commented that it's a far worse situation for the slightly weaker player to face someone with a very similar style, as they can do everything you can, just a bit better.
But in this match, Magnus Carlsen has appeared to be out of form, and many started to root for Karjakin after Carlsen's loss in game 8, as a one point lead so late in the match can be hard to recover from, when the opponent can win by aiming to draw the rest of the games, and Karjakin has shown remarkably skill in holding difficult positions. However, after Carlsen's convincing win in game 10, the world champion looks to be back on track again. Or is he?
Chess World Championship Information
The 12-game match is planned to take place between 11–30 November in the renovated Fulton Market Building (formerly Fulton Fish Market) in the South Street Seaport in New York City,[4] with the two contestants competing for a prize fund of at least 1 million euros (US$1.1m).[5] If the score is tied after 12 games, a four-game rapid chess match will be played, then five two-game matches of blitz chess if necessary, and finally, an Armageddon game will be used to break the tie. (Regulations 3.7).[2]
Although the comprehensive effect of the venture is yet to be seen, Agon has proclaimed: "The world chess championship in New York will be the first in any sport to be broadcast in 360-degree virtual reality (VR)."[6][7] Previous comments about the August 2016 Rio Olympics opening ceremony VR experience were mixed.

How to Play
Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).
Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).
After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.
The Stake Pool:
The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.
30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.
70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.
Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.
Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.
Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.
