Reflection
Donald Williams was an American country music artist and songwriter. He was in 2010 inducted into the American Country Music Hall of Fame before his death in 2017.
The lyrics of Lord I Hope This Day Is Good was written by David Hanner. Don Williams however recorded the song in 1982.
Lord I Hope this Day is Good is the prayer of a man who is starting out the day. The man does not know what the day holds for him but he prays to God to make the day worthwhile for him.
The man strangely acknowledges that he is not a righteous man but he believes in the power of the Almighty to shape his day.
Lord I Hope this Day is Good once again reminds us about our vulnerabilities as mortals. We are smart and intelligent but we do not know what the future holds. We can at best say, Lord I Hope this Day is Good.
