## West Bengal: To see the beauty of the Eastern Himalayas
Chalasa, which is famous for its natural beauty, is situated in the foothills of the beautiful hills of the Himalayas in the state of West Bengal. Due to being located in the Duas area, it is also known as Duaar, which is another popular tourist destination in Assam. Surrounded by dense forests, valleys and tea gardens, rivers and ponds, these tourist sites are very beautiful and picturesque. The small town of Chalsa is surrounded by forests and is situated on two prominent wildlife sanctuaries such as the Gorumara National Park and Chaparmari Wildlife Sanctuary. Many wildlife species, including elephants and rhinos, are found in these forests. If you want to roam at an offbeat site then you can get rid of it. Along with this you can see popular point of view, duras, Jhalong and Jalaldara etc. In Chalsa, once a week Mangalbari hot market also takes place and this major port of buses in Duars is also considered.
Time–To–Visit :-
The right time to come for the ride is in the monsoon and in the winter months. The weather is very pleasant from September to October this time. In January, the region remains the coldest and at this time the temperature ranges from 10 to 1 degree. You can come to roam between September to March.
Transportation Facilities :-
By Road :- Chalasa is located 60 km away from Siliguri. Siliguri is the principal city of West Bengal state. The best way to travel is through the road and you can start your journey with Siliguri. Many buses and taxi run here Apart from this, you can come here by driving yourself.
By Air :- Bagdogra Airport, located 2 hours from Siliguri, is 75 km away from Chalisa. Regular buses run from New Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati and Chennai to Bagdogra. You can take cabs or buses from the airport to Silviudi to reach Chola.
By Railway :- The Siliguri State is connected by the major cities of the surrounding cities and the Siliguri railway station is its nearest station. New Jalpaiguri railway station is the main railway station which is connected to cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. The distance of NJP and Chalsa is 58 km.
Places of Interest - Gorumara National Park :-
The population of Indian Gandes is very high in this park and it has been declared Wildlife Sanctuary in 1949. This sanctuary located in the Eastern Himalayas also has a statue and a Ruddak river. Wildlife will be seen in this area with dense forests and grasses. In this park there will be many migratory birds and animal species such as Asian Elephants, Sloth Beer, Deer, Indian Python, King Cobra and Endangered Species such as Pigmy Hogs. Gorumara National Park is 14 km away from Chalsa.
Point 1 :-
The small village of Kalimpong district situated on the border of India and Bhutan is the point. This is a very beautiful place situated in the forests and mountains of Bhutan and India. Jaladakka river on the point and point of the dam is the main attraction among tourists. You can also learn about species and culture and living conditions in this area.
Chaparmari Wildlife Sanctuary :-
Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary located 30 km away from Chalsa and Lataguri, which is located near Gorumara National Park. The name of Chaparmari has come from Chhapra, which is a small fish species found in this area. Marie means abundant Here you will see the variety of flora and fauna. In this sanctuary, the number of elephants, rhinoceroses, cheetahs and boars is quite high.
Lataguri :-
Located in Jalpaiguri district outside Gorumara Park, the beautiful place is Latagudi. This is a very important place because here it is permit to go to Gorumara National Park and Chamamari Wildlife Sanctuary. You can see some beautiful places like Jaladka, Jalabong and Alipurduar, Statue River and Point. There are also many tea gardens and jungle where hiking can be done.
