Lost in time: Selfportraits with a touch of romance. /Perdida en el tiempo: autorretratos con un toque de romanticismo.

We all know that Gustav Klimt was an important plastic artist. His portraits were a contribution to modernism, cataloging him as one of the most significant artists of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Among its main characteristics, are its famous paintings where gold predominated. This tendency very similar to Byzantine art marked an item in the history of art. His paintings were not only endowed with beauties, but also with a deep tendency to the erotic and sensual.

Todos sabemos que Gustav Klimt fue un importante artista plástico. Sus retratos y aportación al modernismo lo catalogaron como uno de los más significantes artistas del siglo XIX y principios del XX. Su principal característica era sus famosos cuadros donde el oro predominaba. Esta tendencia muy parecida al arte bizantino marcó un ítem en la historia del arte. Sus cuadros no sólo estaban dotados de bellezas, sino también de una profunda tendencia a lo erótico y sensual.

In this series of self-portraits, I intend to reflect serenity in opposition to anguish, using the funds of the most important works of art by Gustav Klimt, and the Renaissance. The entrance of light symbolizes what we can and can not observe: Enough light allows us to see clearly, but a lot of light blinds us. Likewise, it is a loss of ourselves that has been lost in time. The insistence to reflect being as the predominant conception of romanticism.

En esta serie de autorretratos pretendo reflejar la serenidad en oposición a la angustia, utilizando los fondos de las obras de arte más importante de Gustav Klimt, y del Renacimiento. La entrada de luz simboliza aquello que podemos y no podemos observar: Suficiente luz nos permite ver con claridad, pero mucha luz nos ciega. Asimismo, se trata de una perdida de nosotros mismos que se ha perdido en el tiempo. La insistencia por reflejar el ser como concepción predominante del romanticismo.
