There are strong similarities and traditions but after 11th century that is the century most of European nations do not exist, a man made the impossible come to the true and showed to the old world the war phlilosophy of nomads. It was a break point. Turks and Mongols became different.

The certain lines was drawn by Genghis Khan[1] who is the legendary father of Mongols. It is the shortest stories.

The similarities based on nomadic culture[2] of Central Asia. Geographies are almost common and very close to eachother. So cultural interaction is very high. Regarding to beliefs, Turks says “grey-wolf” is sacred but “dog” is sacred for Mongols[3] .

There are the part of under Genghis Khan’s statue:

First one belongs to Xiongnu[4] Empire which Turkish historians call as “Grand Khun Empire”.

Second one belongs to Turkic Khanagete[5] which Turkish historian call as “Kok Turk Empire.”

Third one belongs to Genghis Khan itself and his big empire that the history experienced only once.

After Genghis Khan death, the empire was shared by the sons of him. European side of Genghis Empire called and “Golden Horde Empire[6] ” After Mehmed the Conquerer[7], Ottomans had strong relationship with Crimean Khagante[8] which is the successor of Golden Horde Empire. Ottomans called them as “Tatars[9] ” and the word means Mongol origined Muslim in Ottoman liteature after 15th Century. They are still a big group in Turkiye and there is no difference between a formal Turk and a formal Tatar in the modern Turkiye.

Turks are not Mongols and Mongols are Turks but Turks and Mongols are the braches of Central Asia.
