You have to start advertising Steemit before it's too late!
Google, Youtube, twitter, patreon and Facebook are starting to censor their platforms more and more. Hopefully this will push content creators to different websites but a lot of people are just giving up and quitting creating content because they can't make money anymore using the method they are used to. A few of the channels I follow have said they are not going to be creating as much content they used to or simply stop all together. Some of them will switch to platforms where they can make money by doing something else like stream video games. When they stop creating their usual content where they voice their opinions and instead play games or something the censorship still prevails because they are just streaming video game content rather than voicing their opinion by making informative videos and articles. If that trend continues Steemit will remain as a site mostly used by nerds that invest in bitcoin as a hobby.
For the most part these companies have the right to do what they want. Private companies can decide what sort of content they allow to be monetized and we have the right to choose what sites we visit!
Overall this censorship is a good thing for sites like Steemit but we have to capitalize on the opportunity when people decide they want to quit youtube. We need them to switch to steemit rather than stop making content.
It's only a matter of time before steemit gets branded a neo nazi alt right expression site by the main stream media or something. If pro free speech channels stop existing their won't be anyone to prove such a statement false. This is a battle of time and numbers. We need more people on steemit sooner than later.
We are at the point where we have to boycott google and youtube right now. Cancel your youtube red subscription, switch from google chrome to something like brave. Start posting your content to multiple platforms.
If you want to advertise steemit the easiest way is probably to tell the people with big followings about it. Tell them about steem in the comment section of their video. Go on twitch and donate a dollar to a big streamer and put a message with the donation telling them about steemit.
LAWereWolf made a good video on this subject:
