Celebrity Tokens: Pac Coin By Manny Pacquiao?
Celebrities and Crypto? Maybe. Are we there yet? Are we heading for the mass adoption? Have you heard about the Cage Coin by Nicholas Cage? What about the early birds like Bjork and Katy Perry who explored the potential of the cryptos?Well, a certain exchange (in the process of ICO) is said to list a Pinoy celebrity/ boxer/ senator Manny Pacquiao to launch his own token and be called Pac Coin. Manny Pacquiao is also said to be a private investor if you look at their white paper.
The said exchange which I intentionally did not name, aims to be the world’s first celebrity crypto currency exchange. They also want to be a global leader in the popularity index and the choice popularity index for celebrities. Will they be able to convince the fans of these celebrities to choose them as the best platform where they can engage with their idols? Looks like they need to battle with IG and Twitter.
So how does this work? Celebrity tokens can be used by fans to redeem goods and or buy exclusive merchandise and services of their celebrity idol. All of these transactions will happen using their own block chain technology. I get that and I believe in that but my main question is. Are the fans who are new to cryptospace be willing to embrace it just so they can take part in their idol's coin and popularity or are they good scrolling the pages of IG and Twitter and Facebook pages?
