The quails are in my incubator. They are about to hatch. I laid 24 eggs that I bought. I hope they are all fertile so I can have several laying females. From the previous litter I had 6 female and 8 male quails. Not good, since I only need one male quail for 5 females. The rest serve for our food...

I use my quail eggs as if they were chicken eggs. I put them in my cakes, in mayonnaise, in creams of any kind I make. I also make them mixed with vegetables like spinach, cilantro, cabbage, etc. I also make them in a soup, or in a stew, or I fry 4 or 5 eggs to put them inside a sliced bread or in my arepas.
In short, they have multiple uses. I don't eat chicken eggs since I produce my own quail eggs.

Not disturbing at all. I'm Malaysian Chinese but I mostly make Japanese and Korean food at home. More than my own ethnic dishes.
That's a good idea. Using them in place of chicken eggs. I just had an idea; I'm going to try making Japanese ramen eggs with them. I'm sure they'll taste great. Thank you for sharing.

I like Chinese and Japanese food but I haven't eaten Korean food. I think it is very tasty from seeing advertisements about those foods so much.

You know I just realized that in the translation of what I wrote, without realizing it, it says it's bad luck to have male quail. That's not what I meant. I don't believe in bad luck or good luck, hehehe, I just believe that everything has its reason.
In this case the male quails are used for food which is very tasty.

The translation says nowhere that males bring bad luck, it does say you laid the eggs. That was the only thing that surprised me. hahaha
Hahaha, it's terrible, I have to read and reread what the translator translates for me so I don't make any mistakes. But I always find one or the other, hehehe.
It's not terrible. It happens, and I noticed you can translate up and down several times but each time the translation differs. It's fine as it is.

What happened to your former quails? Did they all die so you had to buy eggs? I keep my fingers crossed for you.
They did not die, I sold the youngest ones. I gave the males to some friends in the countryside. They cook and prepare the quails with rice and they love it.
I only kept two males for when I get the new females.
I don't know what happened but yesterday out of the 24 eggs in incubation, 3 quails hatched. The rest are still in the incubator. They have a chance to hatch until Saturday, otherwise they will be discarded as non-fertile eggs.
At least 3. Can you see if they are male or female already? Give it an extra day.
If I can see by the size they are, There are two small ones, these must be males, so I have one female left.
I have hopes that tomorrow Saturday some more will be born. As it has happened other times. I hope that females will be born.
Otherwise I will have to buy 7 females from the poultry trader. To put them to the two males I have left.
