I heard that the development plans for Shanghai's Pudong New Area include several pilot projects for the digital renminbi, China's pilot central bank digital currency (CBDC), along with a large international trade facility, and since China wants the digital renminbi to be used worldwide, I am not too surprised that they also mention this active use.
