Why should you have a cat

¡Hello everyone! This would be my first post since my 'introduce yourself', I'm very excited about this. This time, I will tell you about cats and why should you own one of these great companions.

Cats are a really popular and wonderful species, there are so many households that have at least 1 that you can roughly make an estimate of the people that don't within any city by a proportion of 60/40. There's a lot of them, ¿right? But, it's not that simple.

There are little animals besides from them, so... ¿Why should we have one of these? Just try to remember every one of those little kittens that you see every day, waking on the streets at any hour of the day, looking for a bit of food or shelter. There's also the problem of people with no respect for lives apart from their own, thinking that they can do whatever they want with something they consider a pest. This world is filled with wonderful people, but not everyone is good. I've seen plenty of cases with cats getting beaten of used for self entertainment and that's a pretty much sugar-coated way of putting it.

This little friends can be really fun to have around, always picking things they take an interest in, scratching the jeans you are currently using or messing with the Christmas tree. It may sound bad to some, but it is their nature to do so, just as much as when they get close to you in the times when you don't want anyone around. When they want to be petted for a bit or try to ask for food and just so happens that you need to get distracted from a hard moment. This wonderful little pets can make you laugh just by their immense curiosity.

They will chase little things around the house, play to be hunters with cockroaches and mice... There's this one time when my Mister Cat managed to catch a tiny cockroach and brought it to my grandma's legs, apparently they believe to be our owners so they have to "feed" us. Grandma was screaming and laughing like she didn't even knew what to do anymore, then started petting him and let him jump to her lap.

There's a lot of stuff you could find amusing or hilarious from them, just remember to show some respect, if their tails start to go from one side to the another, it will mean that they are not happy.

Now, this is the most important detail that I want to let you know. You can find them at your nearest pet store and pick the one you like the most if you are interested, it could also work as a gift for someone dear to you if the person likes animals and doesn't suffer from allergies, cats can be pretty clean by themselves but still need some love with a nice bath. But, it doesn't really have to come from a shop. There can always be one in a cardboard box awaiting for a family, a little kitten that needs someone to pick it up or save it from something. There will always be that special moment when you find one and, after a good look, the words that come fort will be... "This is the one". I know it because of my wonderful, a bit ungrateful and funny Mister Cat. The first time I saw it and decided to take it with me was because I couldn't resist the urge to defend him, a bunch of kids from a nearby school were kicking him around on the street, one of the kicks sent him flying from one side of the road tho the other, while it was so small that it could stand in my hand. I chased the hooligans away and grabbed him gently because it was still afraid. Since then, he has become big, fat and really pampered.

Mister cat is not the only one in my family but it is the first and the one that opened the door for the rest, perhaps I'll tell you the story of each one in another time, but for now I tell you this: find it in you to try and give a chance to them, it will make you happy.
