About Caring

in #cats3 days ago

Greetings, caring travelers!

Today's post is a little different. I've been studying about some Math and CS topics I hadn't taken a deeper look in some years, and it's been frying my little brain. Therefore, this writing is going to be more for myself than to anyone else, and I hope you give my words a chance to travel through your mind as well.

I've been struggling to sleep well recently, and if you've experienced it before, you'd know that it can create a type of mental fog. Add to that the imposter syndrome that always hits me when reviewing mathematics I learned back in college, and it's not been the greatest day ever. But every process in this Universe takes time, and because of that we've gotta exercise our patience more often than not.

My anxiety has also been lurking around, trying to get me to trip. That makes it even more important for me to verbalize that I'm enough. That I don't need to be doing more all the time. That taking care of the special beings I love and myself is enough.

My two little feline kids have been sleeping a lot in this colder times here in the south hemisphere. In full disclosure, they actually have missed us a lot this past few weeks that we've not been home so much. It always kills me the way they get excited when I come back and take care of them after being away. It's crazy how much we as humans can connect with other animals, even though all of our interactions are non-verbal. It really makes me think about how much words can sometimes just overcomplicate things. A great example is how sometimes, when there's no possible words you can say to make the situation better, hugging them can make a world of difference.

Maybe this post can help me hug myself, even if only metaphorically, since doing it physically isn't as helpful, unfortunately. I grew up having Mahatma Gandhi as one of my inspirations, and I still love my favorite quote from him, that was one of the first I remember knowing by heart: "Be the change that you wish to see in the world."

Even though we may think that a happier droplet of water in a sea of negativity might not have any effect, I'm sure that's not true. A truthful good morning wish can change someone's day. Some deep breaths before losing your calm can change your day. Realizing that we're all clueless in this complex Universe can change your living.

I found this two beautiful creatures sleeping together today, and it really changed my day. Caring for other beings usually takes time and effort, but it can definitely change your life.

And since I talked so much about changing things, don't you think #lifetime-rewards could change this network for the better? That's exactly the mission of @thoth.test, and that's why 5% of this post's rewards are set to support it! I'm a delegator for the project and I encourage you to learn more about it too. Another 25% of the rewards are set to @null, in order to help fight inflation in our platform #burnsteem25

I hope this rambling hasn't been completely pointless to you, because it for sure has made me feel better here. Writing really does take my mind off the automatic functioning, and that's really powerful indeed. I already feel more sleepy than before starting the creation process of this post, that unfortunately has taken some dozen minutes more than my sleeping schedule would ideally appreciate; but it's better to have a few good hours of sleep than too many bad ones.

What about you, do you take care of other beings? Does it give you any purpose? I'd love to hear from you, too, even if rambling a bit about it might not seem to have any point; what even is purpose anyway? I hope you have a really nice one over there :)
