저희 마당에 사는 길냥이 '나비'가 TNR(중성화수술)을 당하고 왔어요..! (The street cat living in our yard has been neutered..!)

이전 글들에서 저희 마당에 자리를 잡은 길냥이 '야옹이' 와 '나비' 에 대한 소식을 간간히 전했었는데, 이번에 새로운 소식을 가지고 왔습니다!

In the previous articles, I had some news about the two street cats, 'Nabi' and 'Yaong' which took place in our yard.

다름이 아니라, 요 몇 일간 '나비'가 모습을 보이지 않더군요. 매일같이 야옹이와 함께 밥을 먹으러 왔고, 조금이라도 밥을 늦게 주면 현관문을 벅벅 긁었었는데, 갑자기 자취를 감췄었습니다. 그래서 굉장히 걱정했어요. 혹시 밖에서 차에 치인건 아닌가, 다른 고양이와 영역 다툼을 하다가 다친 것은 아닌가, 하고요.

I have not seen 'Nabi' for a few days. He came for food with 'Yaong' every day, and when I gave it a little late, He scratched the front door. But suddenly He was out of sight. So I was worried that he was injured outside in a car, or was injured in a fight with another cat.

그런데 나비가 다시 멀쩡하게 돌아왔습니다! 아, 멀쩡하게는 아니고요.. 아래 사진을 보시면 알겠지만 왼쪽 귀 끝 부분이 잘려있습니다 :( TNR을 한 길냥이와 하지 않은 길냥이를 구분하기 위해서 수술 뒤에 한 쪽 귀 끝 부분을 자른다고 하더군요 ㅜㅜ (얼마나 아팠을까..) 다행히 굉장히 건강한 모습으로 돌아왔습니다.

But then the cat is back in good shape! Oh, not completely fine... As you can see in the picture below, the tip of the left ear is cut off. I heard that they cut the tip of one ear to distinguish between a cat that has undergone neurosurgery and an untreated cat. Fortunately, he has returned to a very healthy state.

다른 길냥이인 '야옹이'는 1년도 더 전에 이미 TNR을 당하고 왔답니다. '야옹이'는 암컷이라서 그랬는지, TNR을 당하고 왔을 때 엄청 아파했어요. 저희 마당으로 돌아온 날 몸을 거의 가누지 못하는 '야옹이'를 안고 동물병원으로 달려갔던 일이 생각나네요. 다행히 좋은 수의사님을 만나서 잘 치료 받고, 지금은 '나비'와 함께 건강하게 지낸답니다 :)

The other cat, 'Yaong' has already undergone neurosurgery a year ago. The day she came back to our yard, I remember running into the vet with her so sick. Fortunately, I met a good vet and she was treated well, and now she's been healthy with 'Nabi' :)
